Maggie

A little bad news about our other "child" Maggie. This week we took her to the vet to check out a sore on her nose. It appears she has an auto immune condition that is common in her breed. It is not life threatening, but it causes blindness and glaucoma which is painful. In order to avoid these symptoms she must be on steroids... which creates its own set of problems. Drinking and peeing constantly has been the most noticeable (Seth has been getting up with her twice each night). It is ironic that our baby sleeps through the night, but our dog does not... I was quite sad the first couple days as I began to realize the seriousness of her condition, but am adjusting to the idea now.

Seth and I said that if we were to lose her, we would not want to replace her. She has been the perfect addition to our family, and neither of us can imagine another pet that could take her place.
