Today at church they asked me to give a testimony about my experience with our small groups, called connect groups... It got me thinking about this past year. It was almost a year to the day that we first visited C3 San Diego. I remember because it was almost my birthday, and I went to a women's event that evening and came home in tears. Not because I'd had a bad time. I actually had a really nice time. I enjoyed being out with other women, and everyone was so nice... the reason I was emotional was I realized as nice as everyone was to me, I didn't really know them and they didn't really know me. Knowing and being known are such important things.
Fast forward to a year later, and I feel truly known and loved. It is amazing to me that in one short year, I can have friends that I know are friends for life. I don't know how long we'll be here in San Diego, but I am grateful for our church. Connection is a good thing. :)
