San Diego Zoo

Aunt Judy (or Judy the Great as we began to call her) generously treated the group to a day at the San Diego Zoo - which is no small gift by the way. $35 per adult! But it was a wonderful day and well worth it if I can say that about something someone else paid for? Sal had the time of his life. His time watching the Diego cartoons paid off when he saw a Tapir and knew what it was... so funny! I never even heard of a Tapir until Diego. Maybe it is true what they say about it being preschool on tv...

Here is me taking a picture of him watching the tapirs :)

Watching the birds with cousin Ginny - I think he could have stayed here for hours...

And this animal made me feel like a kid again! An Okapi - never heard of it before, but it was amazing.

And we didn't get a picture of it, but there was this beautiful pheasant, sort of looked like a peacock, but had a ruffled purple tail... we were watching him in awe for a couple minutes when all of a sudden he let out this loud, "Woo Hoo!" sound. Sal thought it was hilarious. Super fun. :)
