Um, probably the most humbling moment of my life - seeing the Grand Canyon for the first time. I'm not sure why it caught me so off guard, but it was so much bigger than I expected it to be! It sounds silly, I know. Because obviously we all know it is big, but it is *REALLY BIG.* It is similar to the experience of sitting by the ocean and realizing how small we are and how powerful it is... but even more impactful because we only see the surface of the ocean. It is the depth and width of the canyon that is absolutely breathtaking.
And then you add to the mix that my husband and I are polar opposites when it comes to our risk tolerance... and you see why I wanted to leave the minute after I saw it. Ha ha! You think I'm joking... I'll post some pictures soon, and you'll understand.
